Malibu Mini X is the small fishing Sit On Top kayak that's been missing from the marketplace for so long. Stability and manoeuvrability in a 2.7m boat makes the Mini X the best-loaded small fishing kayak available. The 'Fish & Dive' spec comes with 4 rod holders, a hinged bow hatch, large centre hatch, carry handles, drain plug and ergonomic deck moulding.
The 'Rec' spec is equipped with a single pair of rod holders and a blank forward deck, but retains the large centre hatch.
For the fisherman the rear deck will take a 5 gallon bait bucket and additional rod holders can be fitted forward. The hull is to a design that would please a Naval Architect with a flared bow and tracking channels. The volume distribution in the hull cross section provides great stability and a dryer ride. You can see from the images that the Mini X is not just a fishing platform it is also a family sit on top kayak.
We are impressed with the rigidity and mechanical strength of the hull moulding. The Mini X is 9'3" (2.7m) long and 33.5" wide making it the widest Malibu Kayak in the range. Storing the Mini X is easy, car topping is easy and the Mini X is stackable one on top of the other.
You can fit a variety of different backrests, while we recommend the Malibu/C.O.D. Apex 1 Seat for its excellent back support. It is also possible to fit other deck mounted rod holders to complete the custom fit to your requirements.
